So, the internet is ‘a buzz’ with people looking for the gruesome video caught on cell phone of Saddam Hussein’s hanging.

I saw the Saddam execution footage on youtube and Google video. The choppy strange cell phone video of the event just seemed bizarre. After all these years, all the time and money spent, lives lost, etc, you’d THINK that they could have pulled off a more dignified execution.

To be honest it looked like a bunch of school hooligans were putting on this event. Hopefully they get their act together over there, this was not their finest moment even though the event itself has been a long time coming and quite deserved in my opinion.

Anyways, if you are looking for pictures of the saddam hanging just search on youtube or google video and you’ll be sure to find a copy of the actual video.

I decided to take another break from the addition of beach cams. Today I’m listing an old, and yes, inactive personal webcam. The jennicam was the first super popular personal webcam online. Jennicam got notice even by David Letterman & several other news shows back in the 90s.

There’s a great article by the BBC that I’ve listed on the personal webcams page. Here’s an exerp from it that lists this personal webcam phenomenon quite well: “Started in 1996 by 20-year-old Jennifer Ringley, then a student in Pennsylvania, US, Jennicam was billed as an “experiment”. Ms Ringley rigged up a camera to the computer in her college dorm and broadcast, live and unedited, her life over the web.

The site attracted massive interest, at one point drawing 100 million hits a week, according to its creator. Was it art, a charter for stalkers, a setback for feminism - or all three?” - BBC.uk - 1 January, 2004

Well folks, one of the last free open communities online for chatting and playing around on webcam has closed ’some’ of it’s doors.

Yahoo bowed to pressure from advertisers and a law suit in regards to some VERY disturbing chat rooms. The topics were so disgusting I won’t post them here, but the jist of it was in relationship to young people getting together with adults for inappropriate behavior And that’s putting it very mildly.

I’m not shocked that they eventually got sued for this problem, as it’s been a plague to their chat portal for years, but what I am shocked about is that they didn’t merely use a word/phrase filter list to ban all users from creating rooms with those horrid titles and topics. Also, last time I checked yahoo made a few bucks, why couldn’t they simply hire or outsource a few posisitions to moderate their rooms? It sure could use it even now.

Although the obvious chat spam is annoying yahoo chat and their webcams are really one of the nicest out there, if you use a program (3rd party yahoo chat client) you can simply put all the ‘ chat bots ‘ on ignore and it allows you to find other like minded adults to chat with about all sorts of topics from racey to business to religion.

The regular rooms are harder to find people in, as the spam is a little nuts, but they are still useful. I’m guessing a flock of chatters will leave yahoo now and find other places to go like paltalk.com etc…

If any of you know of other good chat portals, please drop a comment on this post, I’d love to go check them out and do an honest review.

Bonjour live webcam lovers! Since I’m a huge fan of world travel you’re going to find me posting a lot of pics and links to live webcams from different places such as this. This live webcam is obviously a view of the amazing Eiffel Tower in Paris. The image you’re looking now is capture of their ‘refresh’ webcam, they do have a live streaming webcam on the site that’s a closer view of the base of the tower. Hey there, just thought I’d stop in and drop a few lines and share one of my favorite outdoor webcams with yall…

There’s some place apparently in Kufstein, Austria that has 2 outdoor webcams up. One is a closeup shot of what appears to be a historical castle, with an interesting shaped mountain in the background. The other webcam is set back a bit and shows a very nice view of some housing/structures in the immediate area.

I love watching this at different times of they day, they have some real nice sunsets and sunrises…and looks awesome with the snow piled on during the winter.

One day I’d love to actually visit there if I’m lucky.
